Quick rebound of the tourism industry

After the government approved the full opening of tourism operations on March 15, Khanh Hoa's tourism industry is quickly rebounding. In addition to the domestic passenger market, the exploitation of the international passenger market is also very positive when airlines begin to reopen international routes to Cam Ranh Airport.

Business results show positive signs.

According to the Department of Tourism, in May, the province welcomed about 235,000 visitors, an increase of 421% over the same period last year; specifically international arrivals is estimated at 10,000 arrivals, an increase of 402.8%. This year, we are eagerly anticipating the summer travel season. Representatives of many resorts and high-end hotels in the Northern tourist area of Cam Ranh peninsula, Nha Trang said that the number of guests booking summer resorts is substantial. Similarly, Ms. Vo Thi Phuong Nga - Executive Vice President of Champa Island Resort said that the number of guests booking resort rooms in June has reached 80%. Many parties are currently negotiating to reserve rooms for resort visitors in the upcoming months.

Various advantages to welcome international visitors

Recently, Vietjet Air has re-operated the route Cam Ranh - Incheon (Korea) with a frequency of 3 flights per week. This is a favorable condition for Khanh Hoa tourism to welcome Korean tourists back after the Covid-19 pandemic interrupted travel for more than two years. On May 20, 155 Korean tourists, including some representatives of travel agencies, arrived in the Agarwood land during the first flight in order to learn about and assess the tourism rebound of Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa in order to prepare to bring back tourists from the land of kimchi. Mr. Tran Minh Duc - Deputy Director of Long Phu Joint Stock Company, Chairperson of Khanh Hoa Travel Association shared: "We have just welcomed representatives of Korean travel agencies to survey Nha Trang tourism products - Khanh Hoa after the Covid-19 pandemic. Korean partners highly appreciate Khanh Hoa's tourism recovery. The two parties have agreed that as of the beginning of July, Nha Trang will welcome delegations from Korea to Nha Trang, and in the near future, there will be roughly 10 delegations, each with 60 visitors.

According to Ms. Le Thi Hong Minh - General Director of Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company, many Vietnamese and international airlines have raised the issue of reopening international routes to Cam Ranh. Particularly, starting on June 3, Vietnam Airlines will resume service on the Singapore-Cam Ranh route with a frequency of two flights per week. This makes it easier to draw visitors from Southeast Asia.

Khanh Hoa is building ties to leverage the Indian tourism industry in addition to efforts to exploit traditional tourist destinations like Russia, Korea, etc. A conference titled "Tourism in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa and India - Safe, Friendly and attractive destination" was organized in early May in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Vietnam. The conference's main objectives were to present Khanh Hoa's tourism potential to Indian visitors, explore the possibility of developing direct flights between India and Cam Ranh, and discuss ways to alleviate bottlenecks and draw Indian visitors to Khanh Hoa.... Khanh Hoa is one of the locations that India prioritizes for connectivity and tourism collaboration in the near future, according to Mr. Pranay Verma, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam. Immediately after the conference, Indian travel agents had an online connection session to explore cooperation opportunities with tourism businesses in Khanh Hoa province. “Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee also proposed to Vietnam's airlines to study and open a flight route from India to Khanh Hoa to connect trade and promote tourism development. When there is a direct flight, the exploitation of the Indian tourist market will be very positive…”, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh shared

Khanh Hoa tourism industry aims to receive 1.2 million visitors in 2022 (an increase of 100% from 2021), with 1.16 million domestic visitors and 40,000 foreign visitors; tourism revenue is expected to be VND 4 billion.
